Being able to navigate confidently and accurately is an essential skill if you are to venture into remote terrain whether it is mountains or moorland environments with limited features. Too many people simply rely on GPS alone and this can be a major issue as they can break or simply the batteries run out! Knowing how to use a map and compass is not a black art, you will quickly find that navigation is not that hard.
